Of course you would! You didn't build your blog so it could collect dust now did you?
Okay, so how do you get people to visit your blog?
Well, first you can invite family and friends to come and check out your blog. while they are there, they can critique it for you too.
Next, you can add your blog url in your email signatures and send it out with every email. Most people are curious, and will click on you link.
When you leave comments on other blogs, don't forget to add your website url either in the body of your comment or in the field that most blogs provide for website urls. If your comment is especially interesting, others will want to find out more about YOU!
Forums are another place where you can leave your website url in your signature every time you leave a post that contributes to the topic on hand. Choose forums in your niche, or line of work. Don't spam by just leaving a link or simple texts such as, 'me too, thank you, click here,' you get the picture. Add real value to your posts.
Also, there are services where you can ping your blogs. This lets blog directories and search engines know that you have updated your content. There are many services you can try. Most ask for the title of your blog, blog url and rss url. To find pinging services, simply do a search for, 'popular pinging services,' or something similar.
Another way to get traffic to your blog is utilizing your RSS feed. You can use a service such as Feedburner and have people subscribe to your blog. A lot of time subscribers will revisit your blog to read further or to comment.
We all have heard of Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, etc. These are great places to meet like-minded people with whom you can build relationships. Include a link to your blog on your 'bio' or 'about me' page. Once again, don't spam, but offer advice and be helpful. Engage in conversations, ask questions. Every so often, you can direct them to your blog for a 'special report', or 'read about...on my blog,' etc.
You can write articles and submit them to article directories to get more traffic to your blog. I know you already keep up your blog and you don't have time to write more. Well, you can simply use your posts as articles (with a little editing maybe), you can hire a ghost writer to write them for you, or you can purchase PLR (private label rights) articles. This will give you back-links to your blog increasing your page rank and it will also get you visitors because you can put your blog url in the, 'About The Author,' resource box.
These are just some ways to get more traffic to your blog. The whole idea is to get as many back-links as you can to increase your page rank. The higher your page rank, the easier it will be found in the search engines.
