Do you have everything set up to make money online, but just can't seem to get your online business profitable?
Maybe you're getting your traffic from the wrong sources (when not failing to get any traffic at all).
There are many ways you can use to get traffic to your website, but you should focus on targeted traffic - which are people looking for exactly what you have to offer.
The main targeted traffic sources around on the Internet today are:
1) Search Engines Organic Traffic
That's traffic that comes from Google, Yahoo, Bing, Ask.com and other Search Engines naturally. You don't have to pay for it, and it's the best of all. However, it's hard to get. Your website must have either many informational pages or many other pages linking to yours. Preferably both. It should be a medium or long-term goal for every website.
2) Social Networks Viral Traffic
That's a kind of new type of traffic, originated from social networks such as Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and other online communities. It's called "viral" because the link to your website is passed from user to user just like a virus is transmitted from person to person. Because people love being part of groups and communities, and love knowing what their group fellows and friends are doing, this is one of the most powerful traffic sources you can get. It must be constantly fed, though, or people could forget about you.
3) Search Engines Paid Traffic (Pay Per Click/Action/Watch)
It loooks like the Organic Traffic, but your website shows up among the top performers for those keywords according to how much you're willing to pay for the click of a visitor. It can still be a gold mine, but should be used carefully, because big companies like Google, Yahoo and Microsoft rule most part of this market and can change the rules at any time. If you're not careful, you can lose all your money overnight.
4) ADs Display Network
Your AD will display on websites related to your niche. You still pay for the click, but this value is shared with the webmaster of the website your visitor came from. That's why it should be used carefully too, for some will cheat for money. Its traffic is usually way cheaper than Pay Per Click, so it's worth a shot.
5) Discussion Forums
It's also an awesome place to get visitors from, as long as you keep your contributions relevant. People will start trusting you and so they will visit your website (which you will mention on your profile or signature).
The best source? Some may work better than others for your business or your niche. The best thing is to try them all and stick with the ones that bring you more profit.
