How to increase traffic to blog - Web 2.0 - Blogs

Every blogger wants more traffic, otherwise why would you be blogging? Right? We have something to share and want people to be impacted by what we write. The bad news for most bloggers is that writing something great doesn't necessarily mean that you will get a lot of traffic.

Really, there are two parts to the equation. First you need to write great content, and second you need to learn a bit about marketing. Neither one really works very well on it's own, but together they are a powerful combination.

That said, one of the easiest ways to start getting traffic to your blog is to comment on other similar blogs in your niche. There are varying degrees of success with this depending on which niche you are in, but I have one blog that is about 3 months old right now and gets about 50 visits a day just from commenting on other blogs. It takes time and consistently, but it is a great way to start getting some traffic.

My next favorite way is to join a few blog carnivals. They won't send a ton of traffic, but they will provide links and those links are the building blocks you need to get traffic from search engines.

Another great way is to simple write articles on article submission sites and places like hubpages and then link back to your website. Readers of your articles then might just follow the link over to your blog.

Each of these methods do work and will help you grow your blog traffic, but like I tell people all the time, it takes time and a long time for most people. It doesn't happen overnight, it is more of a brick-by-brick process. So just get started today and do the little things that will help your blog be a success and you will get there eventually!
